Vision is proud to announce we are offering Vision Beach training sessions for girls of all ages and skill levels!
Our 10-week Spring training season will consist of 1-3 training sessions per week. Sessions will include instruction in all aspects of fundamental through advanced skill development and tactical play using a mix of drills and competitive games. The Spring training season is designed to create high level training opportunities for players looking to advance their skills and understanding of the beach game before the start of the spring and summer tournament seasons. Space is limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.
Following the Spring training season, Vision Beach will offer a 10-week Summer training program to guide players through the summer tournament season, including a series of tournaments we expect to host. Advanced groups will train with the goal of competing in national bid tournaments. These advanced training groups will require tryouts (more information coming soon!).

From playing to coaching, Sam has been around the beach game for a long time. He grew up playing on the beach courts in Santa Cruz, has experience as both a head and assistant coach at the D1 collegiate level, and was the architect for the creation of the Cal Poly Beach volleyball program. At Cal Poly Sam served as Head Coach for 2 seasons (2014-15) before hiring Olympic God Medal medalist Todd Rogers to take over the program in 2016. During this time Sam served as an assistant from 2016-2018 under Rogers where he learned invaluable training techniques, skill development drills, and tactical gameplans to be successful in a wide range of conditions. Sam is currently in his first year at West Valley College where he is the Head Coach for both indoor and beach programs for the Vikings.
Dave began his beach volleyball career as a practice player for the SJSU beach program in 2016 and has continued to play as a AA rated player in the CBVA. Dave returned to San Jose State beach as a volunteer assistant coach from 2020-23 and took on the role of defensive coordinator developing the athletes on defensive techniques and game planning. Most recently, Dave coached at Mandala in 2023 as a lead coach training the advanced groups through the summer and coaching multiple teams to acquire bids to nationals. Dave is currently in his first year as head coach at San Jose City College on the indoor side and working towards developing its first beach program. In addition to coaching volleyball, he is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and has worked both at CSUMB and San Jose State as an assistant strength coach.
