Vision Beach is excited to announce our 2024 fall program! The program will run from September 21 through December 8. We will only be offering one training group this season, limiting the number of athletes included in training. Athletes who trained with us in the summer in the Competitive training group and invited athletes will have first priority in joining the Fall program. If you would like to inquire about joining the training group you may reach out to David Stanton with your athlete’s beach and indoor experience.
Elite Training Group
This group will train in a high-level environment with some of the best players in the area! Training will be designed to focus on advanced fundamentals, game strategy/tactics, and overall beach volleyball IQ to elevate their tournament play.
Cost: (Includes 2 training t-shirts, and hat/visor)
10-week Season (1x trainings per week) $650
Training Schedule:
- 6-8th grade: Saturday 9-11am
- High School: Sunday 10-12pm
*No training Nov. 30 & Dec. 1 for Thanksgiving weekend
Tournaments:
Players are responsible for choosing and entering tournaments with open registration (whether they are playing in the competitive group or training group). Any player can compete in events with individual/open registration, and we encourage all our players who want to play in tournaments to sign up! There will be tournaments where only the competitive group competes due to the nature of the event, such as where bids are awarded and/or a coach selects players and teams to compete (I.e. BVCA National Championships). Opportunities to compete in Club vs Club tournaments will be discussed once training groups are finalized. For more information on various tournaments over the course of the summer, please check out the CBVA, AAU, P1440, AVP, BVNE, USAV, and BVCA websites.
Refund Policy:
Season Fees are due in full at the time of registration. All fees are completely non-refundable. SportsEngine offers the option to purchase insurance for an additional fee at the time of registration, which covers fees if players are unable to participate due to injury, illness, etc. Vision VBC will not provide refunds in these situations.

Vision Volleyball Club will be offering summer beach volleyball clinics for girls of all ages ; for Intermediate and Advanced level players.
Session 1 – Serve and Pass – Intermediate/Advanced (Grades 6 - 12)
Monday, June 17 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Objectives- Float servers, jump serves, zone serving, etc. Serve Receive passing footwork, platform and angle work, eye work, and partner communication. Players will be divided onto courts by skill levels.
Cost - $75 for each camp or $200 for all 3
Session 2 – Attack/Setting – Intermediate/Advanced (Grades 6 - 12)
Tuesday, June 18 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Objectives- Attack approach footwork, arm swings, offensive attack options/shots. Hand/Platform setting techniques, set locations, situational setting. Players will be divided onto courts by skill levels.
Cost - $75 for each camp or $200 for all 3
Session 3 – Defense – Intermediate/Advanced (Grades 6 - 12)
Wednesday, June 19 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Objectives- Digging and shot run downs, eye work against attackers, blocking techniques, and situational defense. Players will be divided onto courts by skill levels.
Cost - $75 for each camp or $200 for all 3

Dave began his beach volleyball career as a practice player for the SJSU beach program in 2016 and has continued to play as a AA rated player in the CBVA. Dave returned to San Jose State beach as a volunteer assistant coach from 2020-23 and took on the role of defensive coordinator developing the athletes on defensive techniques and game planning. Most recently, Dave coached at Mandala in 2023 as a lead coach training the advanced groups through the summer and coaching multiple teams to acquire bids to nationals. Dave is currently in his first year as head coach at San Jose City College on the indoor side and working towards developing its first beach program. In addition to coaching volleyball, he is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and has worked both at CSUMB and San Jose State as an assistant strength coach.

Option 1: Training Group
This group will focus on individual skill set improvement and the fundamentals of beach volleyball. Sessions will include all aspects of skill development, offensive and defensive tactics, and learning through competitive games and play. This 10-week season is designed for beginning and intermediate level players who are looking to improve upon their skill set, movements, and understanding of the beach game.
Cost: $600 (Includes 2 training t-shirts)
Training Schedule: Wednesdays from 5-7pm at West Valley College (Sold Out)
Option 2: Competitive Group
This group will focus on the advanced movements, tactics, and knowledge of the beach game. Players will train in a high-level environment with some of the best players in the area! We will host two tryout sessions for players interested in participating with this group. This group is open to players of all levels but is geared more for the high-level player with goals of competing in local and national events over the summer. Player must attend one of these tryout sessions to be considered for the Competitive Group.

Staff
From playing to coaching, Sam has been around the beach game for a long time. He grew up playing on the beach courts in Santa Cruz, has experience as both a head and assistant coach at the D1 collegiate level, and was the architect for the creation of the Cal Poly Beach volleyball program. At Cal Poly Sam served as Head Coach for 2 seasons (2014-15) before hiring Olympic God Medal medalist Todd Rogers to take over the program in 2016. During this time Sam served as an assistant from 2016-2018 under Rogers where he learned invaluable training techniques, skill development drills, and tactical game plans to be successful in a wide range of conditions. Sam is currently in his first year at West Valley College where he is the Head Coach for both indoor and beach programs for the Vikings.

Julian is in his second season as an assistant coach for the San Jose State indoor and beach programs. Julian enters his fourth season with Vision, and his seventh club season overall. He has coached 14U-17U teams during that time, winning four national qualifier tournaments. Previous coaching experience includes time as an assistant coach with the Archbishop Mitty girls' program, head coach for the Bay to Bay boys volleyball club, and trainer for the Optimist high school all-star match. Julian is a graduate of San Jose State University where he majored in exercise science and clinical exercise physiology.
John Castillo
John has extensive experience as both a player and coach from the Junior to collegiate level. He's in his third season as an Assistant Coach for the De Anza College Women’s Beach Volleyball Team. He's also spent the last five years as a coach for Bay to Bay's Beach Club. He’s has an Art of Coaching (AOC) Beach Coach certification. He’s also received the FIVB Beach Coaches Course Level 1 certification.

Vision is proud to announce we are offering Vision Beach training sessions for girls of all ages and skill levels!
Our 10-week Spring training season will consist of 1-3 training sessions per week. Sessions will include instruction in all aspects of fundamental through advanced skill development and tactical play using a mix of drills and competitive games. The Spring training season is designed to create high level training opportunities for players looking to advance their skills and understanding of the beach game before the start of the spring and summer tournament seasons. Space is limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.
Following the Spring training season, Vision Beach will offer a 10-week Summer training program to guide players through the summer tournament season, including a series of tournaments we expect to host. Advanced groups will train with the goal of competing in national bid tournaments. These advanced training groups will require tryouts (more information coming soon!).
Pre-Training Clinic
Prior to the start of the training season, we will be holding two (2) pre-training clinics. Players are encouraged to attend at least one clinic prior to the start of the training season. Fee - $50 per clinic

Refund Policy
A $45 administrative fee will be charged for any camp cancellation made more than 30 days prior to the camp start date. No refund will be given for any cancellation made within 30 days of camp start date. SportsEngine offers the option to purchase camp insurance for an additional fee at the time of camp registration, which covers camp fees if players are unable to participate due to injury, illness, etc. Vision VBC will not provide refunds in these situations, subject to the 30-day timeline noted above.
